On March 20, 2009, the City of Miami Beach and the City of Brampton, Ontario will enter into a Sister Cities partnership when Mayor Matti Herrera Bower and Mayor Susan Fennell sign the official agreement during a ceremony at City Hall, followed by business and cultural exchanges. Brampton, Canada is a city of 433,800 people located immediately adjacent to Toronto in the Greater Toronto area. Mayor Bower visited Brampton in October, 2008 to formalize the Sister Cities relationship. ?I think this is the beginning of a very positive and mutually beneficial relationship,? said Mayor Bower. ?While it might appear that we are very different cities, the fact is that we share many of the same interests and priorities, including our emphasis on new business opportunities and cultural programming.?
