We are mailing out a special invitation to everyone that we work with in the community about the Joseph Califano event for February 18. He is the Chairman of The National Center for Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University. His work and research supports the following statement, ?a family that eats together, stays together? and the celebration of Family Day ? A Day to Eat Dinner with your Children.
Firstly, I would love to extend a personal invitation to our Miami Beach Coalition members for this event. I know many of them will gladly attend.
From the research and findings related to the annual awareness campaign ?Family Day: A Day to Eat Dinner with your Children?, Mr. Califano will be presenting his latest book regarding parenting in the teenage years. It is scheduled for next Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at South Miami Hospital ? Victor Clarke Center, 6200 SW 73 Street, South Miami. I am attaching event flyer.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
A father of five and grandfather of eight, Joseph A. Califano, Jr., is founder and chairman of The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University. Mr. Califano held various United States government positions and served from 1977 to 1979 as U.S. Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare, where he launched the nation's anti-smoking campaign.
