In 1997 the South Beach Group was born with the purchase of The Hotel Shelley. Following in short order came The Chesterfield, The Lily Guesthouse, The Mercury Resort, The Whitelaw Hotel, The Hotel Chelsea and most recently the Leon Hotel. Each of these properties have been renovated and completely restored to their original designs. The Miami Beach Preservation League has acknowledged the hotels historic renovations and The Whitelaw recently won the Best Architectural Rehab award.
