Miami's own Windsurfing Race will be held March 9-11th! 48 Hours on the Causeway will be held in the warm and sunny city of Miami, Florida on March 10 and 11, 2007. The exact location is the world famous Rickenbacker Causeway which links Miami with Virginia Key, and shall be sailed on the crystal blue waters of Biscayne Bay. Conditions are going to be excellent for a winter escape to this idyllic location. Air and water temperatures rarely drop below the 70's and winds are consistent in the 10 to 25 knot range at this time of year. Racing for this event will consist of Course Racing There will be only 3 possible courses used for Racing. The regatta will support the Formula Class, Hybrid and Open Longboard classes. The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing, including Appendix B for windsurfing. This event is a part of the US Windsurfing National Race Tour, and the Florida Formula Series.
