YOU ARE INVITED…In Remembrance of 9/11 and our military and law enforcement...
We are expecting Miami Beach Commissioners, The Miami Beach Police Dept, P.A.L., YDC, The National Guard D.D.R., S.A.F.E., The Institute for Child and Family Health, Inc., The Melissa Institute, M.A.D.D., Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. , I Today, City of Miami Beach Parks & 21st Street Recreation Center, WestCare Village South, Miami Beach elementary and high schools, students, residents, media, local businesses, staff, partners and coalition members, WHICH ARE MADE UP OF THE 12 COMMUNITY SECTORS WHICH ARE: youth (an individual 18 or under), parent, business community, media, school, youth-serving organization, law enforcement agency, religious or fraternal organization, civic or volunteer group, healthcare professional, State, local, or tribal governmental agency with expertise in the field of substance abuse, and other organizations involved in reducing substance, HIV/AIDS, Homeless and HIV/AIDS & the GLBTQ community.
Please invite your families and friends…. and assist us in inviting the community and getting the word out about our event in order to have our prevention work be recognized in the public eye and raise funds for MBC and P.A.L. for our Family Salsa Nite and the Last Chance Program for Juveniles at risk.
We are having our Miami Beach Coalition Annual National Family Day Event on Friday, September 16th, at the Miami Beach Teen Center/ City of Miami Beach Parks & Recreation Dept. at: 2100 Washington Ave. Miami Beach, FL 33139 on 9/16/2011 at 6 pm (free parking in the back parking lot/ next to the Miami Beach Convention Center, across from the Botanical Gardens). (Set up at 5 pm.)
We are hoping that 400 plus people will participate at our Family Salsa Event towards the prevention of substance abuse (alcohol, drugs and tobacco) in our youth, residents, parents and families. We are encouraging families to spend quality time together and eat meals together at least 2-3 times a week at the dinner table. Fathers be prepared to dance with your daughters, and mothers with your sons ;)
We have our speakers and venue and a good number of youth and parents attending. I would like to know if you can assist us in inviting the community to have our prevention work be recognized in the public eye and raise funds for MBC and P.A.L. for our Family Nite and the Last Chance Program for Juveniles at risk, and donate in-kind such as:

Giveaways
Resources
Monetary Donations
Flowers
Latin Food
Raffle Items
School supplies
A bike
This iniciative's principal objective is to motivate parents to return to the tradition of eating with your family. We are hoping that once again the Village South will honor us with delicious cooking and wonderful execution of a well-organized healthy meal and social event.
