On March 20, 2009, the City of Miami Beach and the City of Brampton, Ontario will enter into a Sister Cities partnership when Mayor Matti Herrera Bower and Mayor Susan Fennell sign the official agreement during a ceremony at City Hall, followed by business and cultural exchanges. A reception and networker for business leaders and officials from both cities will be hosted at Gemma Lounge, 529 Lincoln Road at 5:00 pm. immediately thereafter, the acclaimed Brampton Symphony will conclude the day of festivities with a concert at the Lincoln Theatre, featuring an introduction piece by Salsa Kids Raymond & Jenalyn who will perform Habanero. General admission tickets for the 8:00 p.m. concert are available at the Lincoln Theatre Box office for $25; proceeds will benefit SoBe Music Insititue. ?I think this is the beginning of a very positive and mutually beneficial relationship,? said Mayor Bower. ?While it might appear that we are very different cities, the fact is that we share many of the same interests and priorities, including our emphasis on new business opportunities and cultural programming.?
