Former Judge Angel Cortiñas became a shareholder at Gunster in 2013 where he practices in the areas of Appellate, Business Litigation, Healthcare, Securities and Corporate
Governance and White Collar Criminal Defense. Prior to joining Gunster, Mr. Cortiñas served as an appellate judge on Florida’s 3rd District Court of Appeal. He served as a trial judge, by Florida Supreme Court appointment, on civil and criminal jury trials and also worked for 13 years as a federal prosecutor.
In March of 2013, Mr. Cortinas mediated the dispute over the historic agreement of the construction of a commercial and residential building over an ancient Tequesta site in Miami.
