Step 2: Practice Your Pitch
Expect to write and re-write until you reach the perfect pitch! Practice your delivery of the pitch to friends, family and coworkers, but most importantly to people unfamiliar with your company to make sure your business and needs are clearly explained. An elevator pitch is a brief overview of your company, product or service. The pitch is so named as it can be delivered in the time span of an elevator ride - you have just 90 seconds to pitch! The term is commonly used in the context of an entrepreneur presenting an idea to a venture capitalist or investor to obtain funding for developing the idea. In an Elevator Pitch Contest, contest judges evaluate the initial quality of a business and/or product on the basis of the quality of the elevator pitch. All contests are open to the public, and both the entrepreneur and the audience will benefit from commentary by the judges.
Step 3: Pitch It!
You will compete in only one preliminary round. All contestants will receive feedback from our expert judges. The top contestants will be selected from the student and community divisions at each preliminary contest and will move on to compete in the final round during Global Entrepreneurship Weekon Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 7 p.m.
All finalists will receive:
