DESCRIPTION:Join Us for the Resiliency & Sustainability Council Meeting!\n\nOn behalf of the Resiliency & Sustainability Council Co-Chairs\, Reinaldo Borges (Borges Architects + Associates) and John Stuart (FIU College of Communication\, Architecture + The Arts)\, we invite you to attend our upcoming Resiliency & Sustainability Council meeting!\n\n  Topic: Built for Change:\n\nHow Policy\, Technology\, and Design Are Shaping Net-Zero Infrastructure\n\n\n\nExploring the evolving role of buildings in climate leadership\, focusing on how sustainable design practices\, forward-thinking policies\, and emerging technologies are driving the transition to net-zero infrastructure. Attendees will gain insights into the impact of Scope 1\, 2\, and 3 emissions from the built environment\, trends in decarbonized construction\, the strategic decisions behind retrofitting versus rebuilding\, and the rise of smart buildings. The session will also highlight how policy frameworks can accelerate innovation and investment in climate-resilient infrastructure.\n\n\n\n  Speakers: Elle Kennedy\, Johnson Controls\, HVAC Smart Building Automation Account Executive\; Kyle Sampson\, Johnson Controls\, Digital Solutions Sales Director\n\n\n\nMission Statement: The Task Force will focus on enhancing dialog between city government\, Miami Beach citizens and Chamber leadership on the topic of sustainability and resiliency. Through education\, risk analysis\, economic considerations\, insurance risks\, consideration of new technologies and local contexts\, the committee seeks solutions with the objective of framing a well-balanced process that is ongoing and will continue to address challenges to the Coastal Community of Miami Beach and its government\, citizens and to the business community.
