DESCRIPTION:On behalf of Resiliency + Sustainability Task Force Chair Reinaldo Borges\, Borges Architects + Associates\, please join us for this month's meeting.\n\n \nFIRESIDE CHAT ON RESILIENCY + SUSTAINABILITY in MIAMI BEACH\n\n\n\nSpeakers:\n\nReinaldo Borges\, AIA Principal of Borges Architects and John Stuart\, AIA\, FIU Professor of Architecture\, will dialog and help outline agenda\n\nactivities for the Chambers Resiliency and Sustainability Task Force on the following topics:\n\n \n\n\n	Impacts of CLIMATE CHANGE and the STRESSES it BRINGS to COASTAL CITIES \n	RESILIENCY INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTS\, CODIFICATION OF RESILIENCY\, BOTH PRIVATE AND PUBLIC RESILIENCY INVESTMENTS\n	CONCEPTS OF CARING CAPACITY FOR THE BARRIER ISLAND OF MIAMI BEACH\n	CITIZEN ENGAGEMENT\, BUSINESS COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP\, AND THE CHAMBER'S ROLE IN LEADING THE WAY WITH THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ON TOPICS OF FUTURE PROOFING OUR CITY.\n\n\n \n\nWe welcome the input and participation of community members\, chamber members and policy makers in this deep\n\nDive into this discussion on the current state of actions towards a more resilient and sustainable future in Miami Beach.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMission Statement\n\n\n\nThe Task Force will focus on enhancing dialog between city government\, Miami Beach citizens and Chamber leadership on the topic of sustainability and resiliency. Through education\, risk analysis\, economic considerations\, insurance risks\, consideration of new technologies and local contexts\, the committee seeks solutions with the objective of framing a well-balanced process that is ongoing and will continue to address challenges to the Coastal Community of Miami Beach and its government\, citizens and to the business community. The task force will formulate a more consistent platform for dialog on the important topics related to sustainability and resiliency and follow the 100 Resilient Cities Rockefeller Foundation initiative\, as it explores the following four dimensions to sustainability and resilience: Health & Wellbeing\; Economy & Society\; Infrastructure & Environment\; and Leadership & Strategy.
