"We're Talkin' Turkey" Food Drive

Dear Friends,
 
Thanksgiving isn’t the only time that children in our community need help to get nutritious meals or families are unable to afford food to put on their tables. In fact, hunger is at an all time high due to the shortages of crops, high unemployment rates, and family instability. 
 
The YWCA is devoted to helping feed hungry families by providing nutritious foods to take home and share when their children are out of school and hot meals are not available. It is hard to imagine that hunger in America exists for nearly 49 million people - that is, 1 in 6 of the United States population to include more than 1 in 5 children are hungry and without food.
 
This year, YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade will be providing 250 families with food boxes filled with all of the trimmings. A $30 on-line donation will “adopt” a family of four. If you or your company would like to sponsor several families, be a canned good donation drop-off site, or have another idea of how you would like to help please feel free to contact us directly.
